who we are
We want to champion the practice of love as a grand adventure, develop new visions of marriage, and advocate for why it all matters.
We’re interested because we see a lot of unhappy marriages. We hear our peers questioning and rejecting “traditional” marriage, predicated as it is on sexist gender norms, heterosexuality, and monogamy. We witness how wildly hard it is to make work. Yet… despite all this… we want to get married. So, what are we thinking!?
Getting There seeks others’ wisdom to develop new visions of marriage that encourages mutual growth through love. We are part of a generation actively articulating marriage as a spiritual arena that can promote self-discovery and personal growth. Plus, we think it can be fun!
Getting There leverages design thinking and ethnography to answer our essential questions. Through interviews, stories, and global travel beyond American culture, we explore how we might create a marriage that lives into our generational aspiration of love as a sacred act of wonder. Marriage Will Be A Long Ride!
